Bohemian style, also commonly referred to as “Boho” embodies a warm, carefree, and relaxed aesthetic.
When I think boho the first thing that comes to mind are eclectic, unique pieces and a whole lot of warmth. Warm earth tones like natural wood, browns, greens and pale neutrals are often layered with metallics and jewel tones such as purple, blue, and orange. There are no hard rules associated with this style and that is what makes each boho inspired home unique.
Adding textiles and patterns from your travels will help give this style its personality. You can also add throws on furniture pieces and hang area rugs on walls. Layering and mixing and matching are part of what makes this style feel effortless.
In opposition to the minimal or modern style, Boho embraces a “more is more” philosophy. Natural materials like burlap can be combined with silk. The materials should have a slightly worn-in look. Think fringe, crochet, and macramé. Planters, pillows, curtains, and throw-rugs combine to make a a home boho chic and cozy.
