We know many of you with school-aged children are having to dedicate a space at home for virtual or distance learning. Creating a good space can help nurture your child’s creativity, enhance their focus, and increase their motivation levels.
Here are some great tips on how to create a great virtual learning space at home:
- Choose a nook or corner is your home with lots of natural lighting. A well-lit area helps boost your child’s energy and attention!
- Be intentional about color. For example, younger children then to thrive in bright, stimulating colors!
- Have comfortable, sturdy seating.
- Keep things organized.
- Minimize distractions (i.e. TV, siblings, electronics).
- Consider multiple work zones. May a cozy nook for reading and the dining table for focused work. A change of scenery will help keep your child motivated.
