Moving can be a stressful and grueling experience unless you have the right help. High Five Movers specialize in local residential and household moving and we have personally used them twice (and plan to use them again in the future!). They are an insured and licensed moving company that serves all of San Gabriel Valley.
Their professional movers are prompt, communicative, and really good at what they do! They always find the best solution for any kind of local move, from a small studio apartment in West Hollywood to a family house with a lot of bedrooms in Pasadena. When it comes to local moving, there is no difficult task for them.
As a bonus, here are some of the moving tips they offer on their website:
Moving Tips
Plan your move ahead of time
High Five Movers will always help you with your last minute move. However, it is better to pick a certain date and time at least a week before the move.
Pack your belongings
Our professional movers and packers will have no problem properly packing your belongings. However, if you are doing packing yourself, these are few tips for you.
Use smaller boxes for heavy things and bigger boxes for lighter.
We recommend using new moving boxes because of their durability.
All the boxes should be taped with a flat surface for proper stacking in the moving truck.
Put things that you need the most in transparent containers to find them quickly
Remember, you will have a lot of boxes by the end of your move. Our professional movers can’t keep track of all the boxes. So, use labels or markers to mark your moving boxes.
Disassembling beds and other furniture is a normal practice during moving. But, in case you are disassembling bulky furniture by yourself, put all the screws and small details in special plastic bags with zip locks.
If you’re packing your kitchenware by yourselves, pack plates vertically as you would pack records.
If you have a lot of electronics with difficult wiring, take a picture before unplugging the devices.
Make it empty before moving
Some of the furniture items can be flipped for stacking or safety purposes. Our professional movers can lift heavy items. However, you should always try to empty your furniture, such as dressers or TV stands, especially if they are heavy by themselves. Also, it is a good idea to empty the fridge before moving.
Parking a moving truck
Movers from our moving company know a lot of neighborhoods very well. However, parking is very often a tricky part. Think about possible space for parking a moving truck. Most of the apartment complexes or neighborhoods can issue a temporary parking permit for moving. In case you live in a gated community, make sure our movers will have access on the day of the move.
