This week’s local business of the week is Cafe Con Libros, a non-profit & volunteer run bookstore in downtown Pomona.
Cafe Con Libros truly exemplifies what community means and we needed to make sure you knew about it!
Twenty years ago, two young Latina educators opened a bookstore to reflect the multicultural community of Southern California that was not captured in the educational system that they were brought up in.
The focus of the bookstore reflects their experiences as women of color, first generation college grads, and immigrant advocates. This was the dream, this was the service they to brought to their community: a bookstore that celebrated the stories and traditions from people of color.
